Parallel Parks was a bold initiative to make the world’s national parks more accessible for people with disability by making use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology.
Working with the project’s partners, New Horizons, National Parks & Wildlife, Google, Telstra and Qantas, we developed and launched a working prototype of a VR app using Google’s Pixel smartphone and Gear VR headsets.
Besides the app itself, the work involved developing the Parallel Parks brand identity, which included designing and producing all the digital and print assets for use across social media, search, sponsored ads, email marketing, as well as materials for a large-scale activation at Sydney’s Martin Place, and product demonstrations at four City of Sydney locations.
Other key deliverables included digital pitch decks for use by partners, and a feature video for use in a crowd-funding campaign.
Parallel Parks was successful in raising more than $500k in funding and in-kind support.
